Erdinger Weissbräu sought a partner to help them obtain seamless standard integration with other applications easily, and in record time. The ERP application for the world’s largest wheat beer brewer was (and is) DCW, in which all modules except filing are used. What they needed was to automatically link scanned documents (vouchers, packing lists, etc.) to the relevant DCW procedures. When scanning packing lists, OCR recognition needed to automate the process.
One of many applications for Erdinger Weissbräu is that dynamic marketing and packaging descriptions are produced based on article data from the ERP application and article pictures from the archive. These had to now become available online to all relevant departments/people directly from the DCW application. Another integration example is in the PAISY payroll application, where all lists and documents are managed by Next®. Flexible searches make it easy to retrieve documents from anywhere.
The Workflow module in Next® handles the processing of incoming invoices directly connected to DCW. On-screen account specification with real time verification in DCW is now an integrated part of the workflow process, at the end of which the invoice account specifications are also automatically recorded in DCW. All Workflow processes are currently available online and future plans include offline access as well. The advantages to the workflow are obvious. In addition to the transparency of the processes, errors which inevitably occur in manual handlings have been significantly reduced.
Because of this mutually beneficial relationship, Next® is now Erdinger Weissbräu’s central corporate archive for all applications in all central departments as well as the decentralized branches. By choosing Nextway, the world’s largest wheat beer brewery proved that very often the most traditional companies turn out to be the most progressive.
