12 million documents at your fingertips — not one piece of paper

The Challenge

How do you automate, process and optimize for a company that produces over 50,000 bills, debtor lists and dispatch documents daily? That’s exactly what the Swedish branch of DHL logistics and transportation asked Nextway to solve.

“Nextway completely eliminated the tedious and time consuming process of printing, paper and filing in our daily operation.”

— Matts Nyman, Head of System Development, DHL

The Process

Diversity and flexibility were key criteria because DHL handles many different types of dispatches for many types of clients. There was a need for numerous types of documents to accompany every single dispatch digitally, with the flexibility to account for constant updating and adjusting. In the old system, all transport documents were filled out on special, pre-printed forms, which then needed filing — this had to be eliminated.

The Solution

Enter the Next® Output Manager, which now makes DHL’s 12 million documents accessible in digital format, making it extremely easy for employees to locate and download the documents they need from wherever they may be — saving truckloads of time in the process.

The Result

According to Janne Eriksson, Executive Sales Manager at Nextway Sweden, companies like DHL can save €15–100 per invoice by using our electronic invoice-handling solution, primarily thanks to time savings and optimized work processes. By implementing systems for electronic document handling, the savings typically amount to €15–80 per document.
